The Matchandoush
Valley (Wadi Matchandoush) This desert valley is regarded
an open-air art gallery preserved by nature. It is situated
between the empty plateaus of the Messak and the sand dunes
fields of ldhan Al-Murzuk.
At some time in history, this
valley used to accommodate some elephants and giraffes living
on the pastures and greenery. In the numerous rivers and water
streams, hippopotamuses and crocodiles used to reign.
Testimonies of such historical facts
are still there in the form of engravings and paintings of mammals
that tell us of such conditions that prevailed in this region
deep back in history.
